It's a sad day for the Dew Family :(
Greetings everybody! We have been disconnected from the world and the internet for the past few days and unfortunately were unable to hear about the passing of Lynsey's Grammy Monday night. We were able to visit her in late July before her condition took a turn for the worse. I only met her the one time, but from what I have heard from everybody who knew her, she was a great and loving wife, mom, grandmother and friend to anyone she met. Grammy Dew our thoughts and prayers our with you for a safe passage in to the next phase of life. You will be missed by all and I will make sure Lynsey is comforted during this hard time. We wish we could be there with you all to celebrate the wonderful life Grammy lived but by the time this is posted, the funeral will be only hours away. We will be thinking of all of you who took the time to pay your respects and helped the Dew Family through these hard times. God bless you Grammy, we love you and will miss you and you will always be in our thoughts and prayers. Goodbye Grammy, we love you!

Greetings from the beautiful Fjords of Western Norway!
Sorry it's been a couple days since we last posted but we've been busy exploring the beautiful country of Norway! Friday we spent the day exploring Oslo. We ate fresh caught shrimp right off of the boat at the towns harbor. Went to Viglands Park and saw some 200 naked sculptures of men and women ranging from babies all the way to grandparents. Pretty interesting but a little weird. We ate dinner on the dock of the harbor as the sun set behind the mountains then walked around for a bit more before boarding the night train to Bergen. Jon slept well but unfortunately I did not! The train ride from Oslo to Bergen is one of the most beautiful train rides in the world and we were only able to see the last hour of it and it was extremely beautiful. Once in Bergen we ran in to a random townie who told us he had a double room with private kitchen and bath for a lot less than what we would have paid for our other accomodations. We checked it out and were soon settled in. Once our bags were dropped we checked out the local fish market where we bought fresh salmon for dinner, hit up the grocery store for some groceries and booked our fjord trip for Sunday. We dropped off our groceries and fish and head to Mt. Ulkrin for a cable car ride to the top. Bergen is surrounded by 7 mountains and 7 fjords and this is the highest of them all. The day was perfect and you could see for ever in every direction. It was an amazing view. We did a little hiking before heading back down and back to our room. We made dinner and crashed earlier cause I was TIRED!! Sunday morning we were up bright and early to another beautiful Norweigan day to take our 5.5 hour ferry ride to the Sognefjorden to the north of Bergen. What a ride!! It was beautiful! We will be posting a lot of pics from the ride once we get back to Brno (along with all the other pics)! check out the tour we did at: http://www.fjord-tours.com/flam-railway/ From Flam we took the train back up and we can see why it is as famous a ride as it is! It was amazingly beautiful with waterfalls and rivers around every bend! It was a long but amazing day! We are going to poke around the town today and tonight and tomorrow we are heading either by ferry or bus to Stavanger for a night and then to Kristinsand for a day and then from there to Fredriskshaven, Denmark and then to Gotenborg. That is the tentative trip plan right now but hey, we have nothing holding us back except a return flight home sunday from Stockholm!! Until we write again, take care and keep us updated on whats going on back home!
A couple of notes:
I hope Grammy is doing alright and please keep me updated and Jenny adn Adam, congrats on the house. It looks great. Take care time is up!!

Stockholm was a blast, now bring on Norway!
Well, we left Stockholm last night on a night train and unfortunately I was the only one who got a decent night sleep out of the two of us. I thought it was very comfortable but Lynsey said she just kept tossing and turning and couldn't get to sleep. The weather was perfect while we were in Stockholm and that allowed us to see a very good portion of the city by foot and enjoy almost all of it. We spent our second night staying in a boat hostel and had a cabin all to ourselves. It was nice and cozy thats for sure. We did a lot of walking everyday and our legs sure were sore once we sat down at the end of the day. Stockholm is a beautiful city and I will most definetly be headed back in the future. We are now going to spend the day (Friday) in Oslo before we catch another night train to Bergen where we have 5 nights to do as we please before heading back to Oslo. We both are very excited about seeing all the beautiful Fjords we have heard so much about. Hopefully the weather cooperates and doesn't take a turn for the worse on us. My time is almost up here so I must get going. We will update again once we get some time! We miss ya'll!! Thanks to everyone for all the emails and comments. Its great to know people our checking out the site! I promise, I will get some pics up once we get back to Brno on the 24th and get our internet working!

HOLY COWS, WE MADE IT TO STOCKHOLM!!
Well, we made it from Frankfurt-Hann airport (not really Frankfurt its actually an hour and a half west of Frankfurt) in to Stockholm (not really Stockholm but Nyopking an hour and a half south of Stockholm) last night. We stayed in a nice little hotel since it was 2330 and did not want to risk not finding a room some where else. Got a good meal in our bellys, walked around, and then boarded the train for Stockholm. It is an absolutely beautiful city with so much to see and do. The highlight of the afternoon was stumbling across a barricaded main part of the town completely surrounded by the local police. I guess a guy with either an ax or rifle or both was on the bridge doing something wrong. We walked around the whole area trying to see what was going on and listening for a gunshot. After an hour or so, we went to the train station and booked our trip to Norway. Pretty good deal if you actually pay attention and as some questions. The people here are very friendly. Tonight we met up with a family friend, Per and he showed us around the city for a bit before we went to this awesome restaurant and enjoyed a great Swedish diner and a couple beers. It was a great 3 hours with Per who I had not seen in over 10 years. Tomorrow we will spend more time in Stockholm and some of the museums and hopefully finding a place to stay and then Thursday night we take a night train to Oslo, Norway where we start our Norweigan adventure. I love it up here! The people our great, they almost all speak english and our very kind and approachable. I will definetly be headed back here in the near future! It is bed time for we have to get up early and find a room for the night. Take care and until next time, CIAO!

Happy birthday cous!!
I forgot to put it in the last one, but it's my cousin Jack and Ty's birthdays tomorrow (the 9th) so I just wanted to wish them a happy birthday all the way from Brno. It's not to shabby here! Have a beer and a shot for me!! Take care and have fun! Drive fast, take chances and most of all, practice safe sex (lots of it)
WE MADE IT TO BRNO!!
I just want to start off by saying hello to everyone!!! Hello!! After two very long days of travel which included a 8 hour flight on Air India which served all you could drink booze (Lynsey and I both had two very strong whiskey and cokes), a three hour wait in the Frankfurt train station, a 10.5 hour train ride which included 5 switches and 5 different trains, we finally arrived in to Brno at 1215am with absolutely no idea of where we were going or how to get there. Once we were able to get a cell phone to use, we got ahold of our contact and found out where we were headed, we hailed a cab and got dropped off in front of our dorm. Needless to say there wasn't much time wasted getting the aero bed, which we lugged all the way over, blown up and our heads on our pillows. We slept well, got a tour around the city (kinda) got some groceries and supplies and our know unpacking and repacking for our trip to Sweden and Norway which we will start Sunday!! Stay tuned for more! We already miss everybody back home and can't wait to hear from you all!! Until next time, CIAO!

We're leaving on a jet plane!!
Todays the day! We fly out tonight for Frankfurt and then catch a train to Brno!! It will be a very long two days but our excitment will keep us going!
I know I haven't wrote in a few days so I'll recap them for ya'll. Friday night we ended up in WW and had way to much to drink. (Pictures our up) We passed out at Ty's place well after bar time to awake at 645 so Lynsey could work at 8 in Madison! YUCK! Regardless, I came home and napped while she suffered through her last day of work. I laid low all day Saturday, helping my dad in the yard and then watched the Badger game at the Sport Bowl before calling it an early evening. Sunday I was up bright and early again to golf my last round of the year. It was well worth it because one of the guys we were with knocked in a 202 yard hole in one on the 17th hole. It was a great shot and we celebrated with 3 huge captain and cokes once back in the clubhouse. Drunk my 1330. Good start to the day. Came home, packed a bit and then went to dinner at Aunt Sandys. Always good times and good food when you get the Halls together. We said our goodbyes knowing we would see Sandy in Rome in October. Monday saw us laying low and saying our goodbyes. It was tough saying goodbye to everyone, especially my dad, but hopefully we'll see him in December if we can get him to come over!! Tuesday, we boarded the train and headed in to downtown Chicago to get our passports back from the Czech Consulate. No VISA yet, what a pain in the ass.
By the time I make another post, we'll be somewhere in Europe leaving the highlife. Until then, take care! Ciao!

Hot air balloon ride
I know this is a couple days behind but we've been pretty hectic getting ready to go. So Tuesday, I get a phone call back from Gentle Breeze Hot Air Balloon ride company out of Madison and he tells me that the group that was scheduled to go Tuesday night cancelled and we could go that night instead of Wednesday. I thought this was perfect! So my dad and I had planned to surprise Lynsey and my lil sister Maggie (who turned 18 on Thursday the 31st, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAGS!!!) for a hot air balloon ride. So we told them we were headed to dinner at BW3's and had to make a pit stop before hand. As we were pulling up to meet the van with the balloon in tow behind it, we had them open a box that contained a minature hot air balloon and asked if they would rather do that then eat dinner. Neither understood what was going on until they saw the basket sitting in the parking lot. We loaded the van, watched as the balloon took shape, jumped in and drifted on a west/south west heading for the next hour. It was pretty fun and even my dad who is scared of heights as of late, loosened up and enjoyed the ride. We landed next to a huge subdivision and half the neighborhood was there to greet us, taking pictures and asking questions the whole time. It was an awesome flight and I highly recommend it to anyone who has ever considered it. The pics are up so check them out!!
Thursday was Maggie's birthday so Happy Birthday again Mags!! The big 18 and she did it in fashion getting a tatto on her foot. She had to be cool like her brother
Lynsey, my dad and I meet Lynsey's dad and brother (also known as BOY) in J-ville for dinner and to introduce our parents. Lynsey was dreading the meet but it turned out to be pretty good. We came home, packed a little more and crashed.
And today, Friday the 1st, is my last day at First Weber this year. It has been great working with everyone here and I can not wait to get back and start working here again. I don't know what Julie is going to do without me putting all her pics in! To everyone at First Weber, it truly has been great and I'll miss all of you. It has been a wonderful summer and I hope you all stay busy the entire time I'm gone. Take care and I'll see ya'll before ya know it! Ciao!

It's Lynsey's Birthday!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY HUNEY!! 22 years and nine months ago today, Lynsey was just a sparkle in her parents eyes. Now look at the beautiful, smart, charming, sweet young lady she has turned in to today! I'm so lucky to be apart of her life! And if any of you don't know, we leave in a week or so for that magical country of Europe. Wait, isn't Europe a continent? By the end of next week we'll be checked in to our room and getting acustomed to our new surroundings! Can't wait! If you don't know Dohr's website, there is a link to his page in the upper right corner. I would suggest everyone link to his page and check out his birthday praises to Lynsey. HAPPY BIRTHDAY again huney!! I'm so lucky!!
On a different note, we had a nice weekend in Woodstock with Lynsey's dad and brother and her mom flew in from Utah. We ate way to much wonderful food, did some last minute shopping, picked out the style of hats, mittens and scarfs her mom is gonna knit for us. They are going to be very nice!! We spent Saturday night with some of her friends playing bags, quarters (which by the way Lynsey rules at

It was a wonderful weekend!
It was a great weekend. It all started with a little roadtrip to see Dohr and his place in Milwaukee. We dropped our bags and headed to the Cheesecake Factory for a dinner that took a little longer than expected but was none the less very filling. From there it was down to North Ave with Dohr, Chris, Kelly, Lynsey and myself. We meet up with Heidi and her cousin and the Milwaukee bar scene was about to begin. We started at RC's where I did not have one drink, although by the time I wanted to and our waitress actually came back to us, we were headed out the door to BBC's. I ran in to two fellow Marines, one from mortars and another who I work with. I had two beers, Sunset Wheat of course and a free shot of Patron and no more because I was the DD tonight! Yes folks, me! Once last call was yelled we were out the door and on the way to Heidi's to drop them off and then headed back up to Dohrs. We catched pretty quick and slept like a rock all night. We were up somewhat earlier, said our goodbyes and headed to South Milwaukee to see Jeny. We paid our respects to her and her mother on the passing of Jeny's dad a few days earlier. You could see it was tough on them but they were holding up well. We got back on the road and headed for home because Jenny and Adam, Holly and Greg were all coming in to town for the evening. The girls went and tried on dresses and Lynsey said that Jenny looked so beautiful in the wedding dresses that it brought a tear to her eye several times. You're a lucky man Adam!! So Adam and I did the guy things and looked at electronics and big ass TV's and started making dinner for the girls. After a filling dinner, the cocktails were opened and the card games began. Barman showed up not to long after and not to long after that Greg was here. We had ourselves a nice lil crowd. We all piled in to Barman's Jimmy once the beer was gone and got a free ride downtown. After showing the Madison bar scene how to do it Whitewater style we headed to Ian's grabbed some pizza, called a van taxi and waited for our DD home. We saw a red Pontiac nail a Cherokee in the middle of Johnson and Frances and then watched as the Pontiac speed off down Frances trying to get away. The Jeep took off after him nearly hitting two people and then disappeared around the bend. We got our wonderful ride home, I tucked Greg in to bed and then passed out myself. Greg and Holly joined Lynsey and I in my bed Sunday morning before heading upstairs and making breakfast and packing up their belongings. We said our goodbyes for the next 6 months and they headed back home. We spent the rest of the morning and early afternoon cleaning, relaxing, packing and then went and saw Pirates 2 with my dad before calling it an early evening. All in all it was a great weekend spent with some great friends. Thanks everyone!! The pics our up from Saturday night too. Take care.

Good Tuesday morning!
Good morning everybody! I'm sitting here at work with little to do and thought I would post a lil note on the wall for ya'll to read. This past weekend was a nice one. Friday my dad, Lynsey and myself went down to Fort Atkinson to see a texas singer by the name of Slaid Cleaves perform at the Cafe Carpe. It was a great show. The stage was barely big enough for the three band members to fit on all at once. If you haven't heard any of his music, download some. He is an amazing song writer. Saturday I golfed and Lynsey worked and then Ty, Lynsey and I left for the cabin with Ty's mom's (my aunt) convertible and the top down. My dad meet us down there and the 4 of us went canoeing and fishing for awhile on a perfect evening in south western WI. We made dinner and sat outside and watched the meteor shower that was at its peak Saturday night. Sunday we all slept in, which was great, and then the three of us spent the day driving around and visiting the local wineries and sampling them all! It was a great afternoon. We drove to Stoughton after we were all cleaned up to surprise Katie as she returned home. We ate way to much food, played some washers and drank some of our newly bought wine. Great weekend and not to many more left in the states! Until next time, CIAO!
